Say you're watching the Discovery Channel on television and you're directed to the Web for more information about a particular program.  Perhaps you want to go to:

http://www.discovery.com

All you have to do is enter this address in your browser's Address or Location field and press the Enter key.

In Netscape, the Location field is just above this window (the one showing the address of this page).  In Internet Explorer version 3, the Address  field is also just above this window (and showing the address of this page).

Note:  In Internet Explorer version 4, you may have to click on the word Address at upper left to see the address field.

Click on the address shown in the Location or Address field.  Notice that the entire address of this page is highlighted.  Press the backspace key.  Then type in the desired address. Press the Enter key. Voila!
Note:  You may omit the http://  -- this part of the address is assumed if omitted.
Go to the Discovery Channel now by typing www.discovery.com and pressing the Enter key.  Use your Back button and Forward button once you get there.  Find and click on links.  Test the navigation skills you've gained so far.
