Mission and Goals

Mission Statement:

To cost effectively provide and efficiently maintain a secure and reliable statewide video/data network, known as NevadaNet, capable of supporting the wide area connectivity requirements of the educational, research, and telemedicine initiatives within the State of Nevada.

Vision:

To be acknowledged as Nevada’s leader in wide area networking innovation and to be the wide area network services provider of choice for educational, research, and telemedicine entities in Nevada.

Goals:

  1. Provide statewide data/video connectivity and capacity to adequately meet the needs of NSHE member institutions and other entities connected to NevadaNet.
     
  2. Maintain a high level of wide area network service reliability.
     
  3. Maintain the security of critical SCS network resources.
     
  4. Maintain a high degree of operational efficiency by making cost effective use of all available resources in order to reduce the operating costs of the NSHE and those of other entities connected to NevadaNet.
     
  5. Provide vision, leadership, and support to NSHE institutions and the K-12 community in the development and deployment of new applications and technologies utilizing the NevadaNet network.
     
  6. Build and maintain a team of highly trained and motivated networking and telecommunications professionals.
     
  7. Provide exemplary customer support service to the users of NevadaNet.
