The overall responsibility of a NSHE Security Coordinator includes but is not limited to receiving requests and verifying information, granting and approving user access, monitoring user access for changes, and maintaining completed requests for SIS, HRMS and ADVANTAGE Systems in accordance with NSHE policy and federal law.
When a new user is requested to be introduced to the various systems, a Security Coordinator ensures proper forms and approvals have been submitted. As users change duties, the Coordinator is responsible for assuring access is modified as needed to reflect those changes. When users leave their duties, the Security Coordinator must follow procedure to revoke and/or remove the user's access to the various systems to prevent unauthorized access. Furthermore, the Coordinator shall keep records of the activities (creating, modifying and deleting access) for their institution as well as an outside audit to assure proper procedures have been followed.
